Providence Health & Services Life Enrichment Coordinator in Portland, Oregon


Providence is calling a Life Enrichment Coordinator (1.0 FTE, Days) to Providence ElderPlace In Gresham in Portland, OR.

In this position, you will:

  • Plan, organize, direct, and participate in a broad program of recreational services appropriate for the participants of Providence ElderPlace.

  • Position will make visits to skilled nursing facilities, assisted living and to homes as well as working at site.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Activity Coordinator Certification is required for candidates without a Bachelor’s Degree

  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA-BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification must be obtained within 1 month of hire

  • 2 years of experience with a frail or elderly population, (ie hospital, rehabilitation, or long-term care setting)

  • In Compliance with the Department of Human Services (DHS), criminal background check is required for this position, based on assigned duties; fingerprinting may also be required

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor degree level of preparation with an emphasis in fields of special education, occupational therapy, recreation therapy

  • Training in working with cognitively impaired adults, frail elderly, and/or adults with mental and emotional disabilities

  • Experience leading therapeutic group activities, discussions, etc.

  • Experience in participant assessments and care planning
